BIOS:

Margaret Dickenson

For almost 30 years, Margaret accompanied her husband Larry, during his years in the Foreign Service. They went to many fascinating countries, where Margaret acquired her expertise in many a country's cuisine. She is the author of the international award winning cookbook From the Ambassador's Table , named as the best cookbook in the world on entertaining, at the World Cookbook Fair in Perigueux, France. Margaret is also the creator, writer and host of the international award winning 26 episode lifestyle and cooking series Margaret's Sense of Occasion . The series aired nationally on Rogers Cable Television for 5 successful seasons. Currently, viewers can see Margaret's Entertaining Minutes , 3 times daily on TV. Margaret is completing her second book and working towards another TV series. She has a regular food and entertaining section in the Diplomat and International Canada magazine, and writes articles for other publications.

 

Larry Dickenson

 

Larry Dickenson spent 28 years in Canada's foreign service, living overseas in Vienna, Belgrade, Moscow, Brussels, Cairo, Seoul, Kuwait and Jakarta. On the last two of those assignments he was Canada's Ambassador to Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Indonesia respectively. Shortly after returning to Canada, he entered the Privy Council Office which provides support to the Prime Minister and the Canadian Cabinet. His position before retirement was Assistant Secretary to the Cabinet for Security and Intelligence.  These days, he has turned his attention more to his great love of excellent food, and his major interest in photography. Since retirement, Larry works closely with his wife Margaret on her culinary projects. Larry and Margaret, always a team, have teamed up once again to combine her cooking and entertaining activities with his excellent photographic talents.
